The Promised Weapon:
Following the fall in the garden, God cursed Satan, and that he should crawl on his belly eating dust. He also put hostility between believers and satan; promising a child would be born to mortally wound the devil, Gen 3:14,15.
Notice the Son of God existed before appearing in the flesh 1 Pet 1:20. He came as promised to annihilate the works of Satan and his followers. Through the offering of salvation to all men; while healing believers from the effects of sin introduced by the enemy; and finally the complete defeat and destruction of the devil and his followers throwing them all into the lake of fire Rev 20:10,15. Jesus is the One who has given believers victory over sin and the devil. How did Jesus and His followers defeat the works of demons?
The power of His word.
When we have faith in the Son of God and believe His words, we too can be healed. Power goes along with faith in the words of Christ. Jesus encountered a deaf man with poor speech, soon as Jesus pronounced the words “be opened”, straightaway the man’s hearing came to him and his speech was normal Mar 7:34,35. Another time, His words healed a leper.
Apostle’s Philip preached Christ, Paul commanded in the name of Jesus, demons fled and believers healed.
Apostle Philip proclaimed Christ to the city of Samaria; the people listened and believed his message. Demonic spirits yelled and fled from the people they infested, and many were healed of different illnesses Acts 8:5-8. Paul encountered a woman possessed with an evil spirit, giving her the ability to tell fortunes. She followed and annoyed Paul by following him and shouting “These men are servants of the Most High God….” Acts 16:16-17.
Battleground:The mind
The world is the way it is because the enemy has already blinded the minds of unbelievers 2Cor 4:4. In these last days, Satan knows his time is short. He is feverishly attacking believers from all sides 1Pet 5:8. The fight is in and for your heart and mind. We don’t have to look far to see how much ground the enemy has gained. Many sincere believers have left sound doctrine by accepting part-truths and doubt their relationship with God. The evidence is clear with church attendance down, and doors closed increasing. The falling away is in effect paving the way for the antichrist 2Thess 2:3.
