The Fall of Man Spirit Soul and Body

Before the fall of man, Adam had a body, soul, and spirit; Adams spirit was in the image of God. What does God look like? Scripture tells us “God is a Spirit” John 4:24; “God is light” 1 John 1:5, “who covers Himself with light as with a garmentPsalm 104:1-2. Adam too, must have been in a similar likeness.

In Daniel 12: 2-3 we see the resurrected saints in their new bodies, “shall shine as the brightness of the heavens” the image of God restored. While we do not know what we will look like; we can be sure that “we will look like Jesus, for we will see Him as He is”, 1 John 3:2, Matthew.13:43. Adam and Eve, in appearance, glowed brightly and were cloaked with the brightness of God. They walked with and was led by God Genesis 3:8, Romans 8:14

Adam Walked with God

In the Garden, Adam “the son of God” Luke 3:38, walked with God. Adam lived in a state of innocence, enjoying an intimate fellowship with the Creator God. He had charge over all of God’s creation Psalm 8:5-6. Not by rationalizing logically with his (Soul’s) natural mind, but he knew by accessing the spiritual mind of God 1 Corinthians 2:16. Adam was in union with God through the faculties of his spirit, which enabled him to commune with his Creator. His soul followed his spirit mind, the mind of God imparted to him, and us who believe.

Adam Super Intelligent

After observing the many different types of animals and their relationship with one another, Adam named all the animals. He listened to what the spirit revealed Genesis 2:19,20. When Adam first saw Eve, he possesed the intelligence to recognize her as both from and part of himself “called her Woman” Genesis 2:22-23. Adam had the spiritual mind of God and received that knowledge into his soul, which directed his body, 1 Corinthians 2:16. Man is spirit, soul, and body. Unlike now, where our bodies dictates its desires to our soul.

Adam Disobeyed

Adam disobeyed God and did the one and only thing God said not to do. “For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die”, Genesis 2:17. They immediately lost their relationship with God.  Adam and Eve died spiritually. The first and only couple were essentially dead to God, who is pure, holy and righteous. The Spirit of God no longer communed with them; God is a Spirit, and the Spirit is life James 2:26, Romans 8:10. Adam and Eve lost their shine, their glory, their spiritual glow immediately disappeared, and they were naked and knew it. They knew they messed up, big time, and they died.

Human Race Began and was Doomed

Adam and his descendants lost their authority and power to subdue and have dominion over the earth Romans 8:22,23. The human race began, and was condemned to death Romans 5:12. Adam and Eve became like the animals’, soul and body. Mans soul lost its relationship, its teacher and guide, its source for life, the Spirit. Man’s soul was created to learn from walking in harmony with the spirit 1 Corinthians 6:17

Man now became like the animal’s, with a soul and body only; where the body of flesh dictates its wants and desires on the soul. Now humanity is self-willed, desirous of its own satisfaction foremost. Subject to the 5 senses of the flesh. Always seeking what makes the flesh feel good; pleasure fulfilling its pride by serving the flesh. The natural man or man without the spirit of God cannot know God or please Him, Romans 8:7, 1 Corinthians 2:14

Eden

In the beginning, Adam did not have the spiritual interference that we have today. He was able to hear the voice of God perfectly clear; it was the only voice he knew, almost. They knew and saw everything as God did. They were One Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:17.

Adams Choice

Adam had only one rule to obey: “do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil” Genesis 2:17. Adam had free will, he was not a robot, he had a choice. God gives man a choice today to choose life or death.
